Tom was in West Malling in Kent to install these window shutters with integrated blinds for one of our clients. The shutters were to be fitted to a large floor to ceiling flat bay window in one of the bedrooms. This is a unique kind of window which our made to measure shutters were crafted exactly towards.
The customers bedroom faces a busy road outside, so having these shutters combined with the blinds allows for better privacy, but also plenty of light when needed. The blinds were made to cover just the top section. The shutters are created in a tier on tier design allowing the bottom and top sections of the panels to be completely folded to the side out the way when required.
Of course all shutters panels can then be adjusted or fully opened and closed allowing maximum flexibility across the whole window no matter what time of day or natural lighting conditions.
Our client wanted the shutters created in a modern and contemporary style, so we used hidden tilt rod systems allowing operation by touch, also using 76mm louvres and a pure white finish.
The shutters are made from out Fiji hardwood range and although in this case use pure white, they can be painted in 28 different shades. We used beaded styles in the framing to add some extra character, just one of the small details which can make a difference when picking your new shutters!
