Tom, Ben and John were in Surrey to install these shutters to Rachel and Gary’s property.
They were to have plantation shutters installed in the living room and kitchen, keeping the style the same throughout but using two different materials.
In the kitchen we used Antigua which is an MDF coated with a water resistant polyurethane coating which creates a moisture resistant finish for shutters near areas such as sinks or taps and will not fade over time.
In the living room area we have multiple windows dressed with Fiji hardwood shutters made from Paulownia and the lightest shutters in our range, whilst still being robust and resilient to handle.
We mounted all the shutter panels in 4 sided double insert L frames and used 76mm louvres with hidden tilt rod systems. This creates a modern, minimalistic finish without visible rods anywhere, yet still simple to adjust by touch. All shutters were finished in a lovely pure white paint with matching hinges which suit both rooms perfectly!
